• If a sedative is provided, ensure the client is educated on instructions for use and has a ride from the office post-treatment.
First 24 Hours
• Aside from possible bruising and swelling, the treated area(s) will feel tight and sore after the procedure. Any discomfort can be treated with over-the-counter Tylenol.
• Avoid exposing the treated area(s) to direct sunlight or excessive heat (including tanning beds, hot tubs, saunas, and sunbathing). *NO ICE*
• Keep the treated area(s) clean and moisturized to promote healing and prevent infection. DO NOT apply makeup or any other harsh/exfoliating
skincare products to the area. (Change pillowcase!)
• Be gentle when washing or touching the treated area(s) and avoid rubbing or scratching the skin.
• Avoid vigorous exercise or strenuous activities.
• Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and aid with the recovery process.
Beyond 24 Hours
• Normal activities and skincare can be resumed.
• Initial bruising and swelling can take 1-2 weeks to resolve.
• While initial results are immediate, the final result is typically seen 3-4 months later due to the collagen and elastin remodeling within the skin.
