Typically, within about 7 to 14 days. How quickly you’ll see results from your injections depends on several factors, including which type of injection, where they were placed, and your body’s unique anatomy. Some patients see results in as little as a few days, but some patients may take the full 14 days to see their final results.
After your results appear, they typically last 3 to 4 months. Daxxify is known to deliver results that last as long as 6 months in some patients! We recommend you plan on coming in for maintenance injections a few times a year if you would like to maintain your results in the long term.
Botox and filler serve different purposes and can often be used together for optimal results. Fillers are best if you’re looking to add volume or definition, injectables like Botox can smooth away wrinkles that are caused by muscle movement. We can work with you during your consultation to figure out the best treatment plan for your desired results!
- This treatment is not recommended if you have an important event within 2 weeks of injection due to potential for bruising.
- It is best to avoid alcohol and sun exposure for 24 hours before and after your treatment.
- No facials and/or peels for 24 hours before and after your treatment.
- Avoid herbal supplements such as Gingko, green tea, Vitamin E, and anti-inflammatories (Ibuprofen, Advil, Aleve) of any kind for 48 hours before and following treatment to limit bruising.
- For the first 4 hours following your treatment, remain upright and periodically perform facial movements in the areas of injections in order to work the neuromodulator into the muscle – e.g., smile, squint, etc.
- Do not participate in activities that include heavy lifting, vigorous exercise or straining for 2-4 hours (it takes approximately 2-4 hours for the neuromodulator to bind to the nerve and you do not want to increase circulation during that time).
- Do not rub, touch, or manipulate the treatment area(s) for 4 hours.
- Make-up may be applied gently before leaving the office, remember to wipe up and away from your eyes or brows.
- Bruising in the area injected is normal and often expected, especially if treated around the eyes. Bruising can last up to several weeks. Using/taking Arnica may help diminish bruising.
- It may take up to 14 days for the neuromodulator to take full effect.
- A follow-up visit or check in with your provider at 2 weeks is suggested to assess results, particularly if you are a first time client. If full correction is not achieved, you will need to purchase additional neuromodulator for injection.
- You may experience a dull headache and/ or feel like your eyes are “heavy”, particularly if you are a first time client.
- Re-treatment is typically needed between 2-6 months.
- If your upper lip was treated you will not be able to drink through a straw, whistle, or enunciate some words for approximately 2 weeks.
- Although rare, infection and allergic reaction in the injected area is possible. Signs of infection may include redness and tenderness in the infected area and fever. Should you develop any signs of allergic reaction or infection, steroids and/or antibiotics may be necessary. Please contact us should you have any concerns.
